FAQ

Key answers about our rope solutions for defence and military applications – from technical performance and certifications to NATO supply chain compliance and procurement support.

Why are HMPE ropes the preferred choice for defence and military applications?

HMPE ropes deliver tensile strength comparable to or exceeding steel wire at up to 8× less weight – a critical advantage in military logistics where equipment weight directly impacts operational mobility and personnel safety. HMPE does not corrode, does not conduct electricity, is radar-transparent, and stores significantly less kinetic snap-back energy than steel – reducing the risk of serious injury during field deployment. These properties make HMPE the material of choice across a growing range of NATO and allied defence applications.

What defence applications are your ropes suited for?

Our ropes are used across a wide range of military and defence operations, including:

  • Vehicle recovery and extraction – wheeled and tracked military vehicle recovery in field conditions
  • Aerial operations – helicopter sling loads, fast rope deployment, and aerial delivery systems
  • Naval and maritime operations – vessel mooring, towing, and underway replenishment lines
  • Field rigging and load securing – bridging operations, equipment lashing, and field engineering
  • Obstacle crossing and rope bridge systems – infantry and special forces field operations
  • EOD and controlled demolition support – remote pulling and controlled extraction lines
  • Search and rescue – military SAR operations on land and at sea

Are you a registered NATO supplier?

Yes. We are registered as a qualified supplier to NATO, meeting the supply chain, documentation, and quality management requirements of NATO procurement standards. Our registration ensures full traceability from raw material to finished product, compliance with relevant defence procurement frameworks, and the supply chain reliability that military contracts and allied defence organisations require. We can provide full supplier qualification documentation upon request.

What certifications and standards do your defence ropes meet?

Our HMPE rope products are manufactured in compliance with relevant international standards and are available with third-party type approval including DNV GL certification. For defence-specific procurement, we provide full material traceability documentation, batch-level test certificates, dimensional inspection reports, and load test results – meeting the requirements of defence procurement officers, quality assurance teams, and statutory inspection bodies. Additional certification to specific defence or NATO standards can be discussed based on project requirements.

Can ropes be customised to meet specific defence procurement requirements?

Yes. We work directly with defence procurement teams, equipment integrators, and military contractors to specify the correct rope construction, diameter, MBL, length, and coating for each application. Custom colour schemes including tactical olive, tan, and black finishes are available. Specific marking, identification coding, and packaging to military logistics standards can also be provided. All customisation is supported by full documentation to meet defence procurement traceability requirements.
