FAQ

Key answers about our lifting rope solutions – from technical specifications and certifications to customisation and project support.

Why choose HMPE ropes over steel wire for lifting operations?

HMPE ropes deliver tensile strength comparable to steel wire at a fraction of the weight – up to 8× lighter – making them significantly easier and safer to handle during rigging and lifting operations. They are fully corrosion-resistant, do not kink or birdcage, and store far less snap-back energy than steel, reducing the risk of serious injury in the event of a failure. For applications where weight, handling safety, and fatigue resistance are critical, HMPE is the technically superior choice.

What lifting applications are your ropes suited for?

Our ropes are used across a wide range of lifting and rigging operations, including:

  • Crane and hoist operations – main load lines, whip lines, and pendant ropes
  • Heavy-lift rigging – slings, grommets, and multi-leg assemblies
  • Offshore and marine lifting – subsea lifts, platform crane operations, and deck handling
  • Industrial lifting – factory and warehouse overhead crane systems
  • Construction and infrastructure – structural steel erection, bridge construction, and tunnel work
  • Salvage and recovery operations – wreck recovery and emergency lifting

Do your lifting ropes meet industry safety and certification standards?

Yes. Our HMPE rope products are manufactured in compliance with relevant international lifting standards and are available with third-party type approval, including DNV GL certification. Full material traceability, load test certificates, and technical documentation are supplied with every order – meeting the requirements of lifting engineers, project managers, and statutory inspection bodies.

How do your ropes handle shock loading and dynamic forces during lifting?

Shock loading is one of the most demanding conditions a lifting rope can face. Our 12-strand HMPE ropes are engineered with a proprietary 3-step coating process that bonds the core and cover into a single unified structure – distributing dynamic forces evenly across all 12 strands and preventing internal strand movement that can cause premature fatigue. The result is a rope that maintains its structural integrity and rated performance even under repeated dynamic loading cycles.

Can lifting ropes be customised for specific load and rigging requirements?

Absolutely. We work directly with lifting engineers, rigging contractors, and procurement teams to specify the correct rope construction, diameter, MBL, and length for each application. Custom end terminations, colour coding, identification markings, and project-specific documentation packages are all available. Whether you need a single precision lifting sling or a full rigging supply for a major construction project, we engineer the solution to your exact requirements.
