HMPE ropes offer an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio – delivering the same or greater breaking strength as steel wire at up to 8× less weight. Abrasion is the primary cause of rope failure in commercial fishing. Our 12-strand HMPE ropes feature a tight 24 or 32-strand braided cover combined with a proprietary 3-step coating process that creates a hardened outer surface resistant to the mechanical abrasion of winch drums, fairleads, blocks, and net rollers. The coating also prevents particle ingress – sand, grit, and shell fragments – from penetrating into the rope core where they cause accelerated internal wear. The result is a rope that maintains its rated strength significantly longer than standard fishing ropes.

Fishing ropes face a uniquely aggressive chemical environment – seawater, fish oils, cleaning agents, and fuel contamination are daily realities on a working vessel. Our HMPE ropes are chemically inert, do not absorb water, and are resistant to the oils, salts, and mild chemicals typical of fishing vessel operations.
